Teeth Whitening Results

No teeth whitening gel will whiten your set of teeth at once. It takes a long period of repetitive application to achieve a tangible result. How fast the application of teeth whitening gel will yield a good result depends largely on what stained the teeth in the first place.

The most common reasons for stained teeth are:

  • Taking tobacco regularly
  • Taking dark colored liquids like red wine, tea, cola or coffee
  • Improper and inadequate dental care

At this point, it is worthy of note that some people have natural brown set of teeth. Teeth whitening gel may not be able to change the color of naturally brown teeth. Aging also changes the color of the teeth.

First of all, all toothpastes have the ability to remove mild stains since they all contain mild abrasives. But our teeth whitening gel contains polishing or chemical agents that are able to effectively remove more stubborn stains. But ordinary toothpastes only remove surface stains since they do not contain any bleaching formula.

But professional teeth whitening products like our gel contain hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide that lightens the color of the tooth and this chemicals work deeper than surface level. As effective as a tooth whitening gel is, it is not as effective as a whiten procedure done by a dentist. This is because our gel only lightens the color of your teeth by one shade while the whitening procedure lightens the whole set of teeth by up to eight shades.

Type of Teeth Whitening Gel

Our peroxide-based whitening gel can be applied with a small brush directly to the main surface of your teeth. If you are using our teeth whitening gel, you need to follow the instructions to the letter and you will begin to see the difference after a couple of days. However, the final result will only be sustained for about four months before your teeth get stained again. This simply implies that you need to keep applying a teeth whitening gel if you want your teeth to remain white for the rest of your life. The stains will begin to appear when you stop to apply the gel.

Tooth sensitivity

The most common issue with teeth whitening is tooth sensitivity. Your set of teeth may become sensitive after some teeth whitening treatments. When that happens, the pain may be excruciating. You have to take the following steps to treat it.

You need to apply sensitivity toothpastes. These are toothpastes produced to alleviate the pain associated with all forms of tooth sensitivity. The main ingredient of sensitivity toothpastes is potassium nitrate.

It has been scientifically proved that the process of chewing gums distracts people from the pain in their teeth or any part of their mouth. This is why you should cultivate a habit of gum chewing when you are suffering from tooth sensitivity.

You have no choice but to suspend teeth whitening activities till you are completely healed from tooth sensitivity otherwise, you will worsen the pain.

Another major safety concerns is that bleaching agents like hydrogen peroxide causes irritation to the gum if applied for a long period non-stop. This commonly happens when the gel is applied with an inappropriately positioned tray. This is why we advise that you should involve your dentist in your teeth whitening treatments. Let him prescribe the best teeth whitening gel to you and also advise you on how to apply it for optimum result and prevention of side effects.

SIde effects

To avoid the occurrence of side effects, here are the tips to follow.

We usually advise that you should let your dentist make a custom tray that will fit neatly with your mouth and also put you through on how to properly use a tooth whitening gel. Secondly, it is safer to use an over-the-counter product that has ADA’s (American Dental Association) seal of acceptance. This is because ADA recommends whitening gels that have about 10 percent concentration of carbamide peroxide.

It is quite important to brush your teeth properly before applying the gel as dirt or food particles will reduce the effectiveness of the gel. You should not leave the tray in your mouth for more than a few hours. This process may take just two weeks after which you will begin to witness a tangible result.

Applying & removing the trays

Please be very careful when taking off the tray so that you don’t end up swallowing some of the gel. Needless to say, bleaching agents should not come in contact with any internal organ of the body. Before rinsing your mouth, you should remove the residue left in your mouth (if any). A clean finger or a clean piece of cloth will do but a soft toothbrush is the best for this.

To maintain your whitened set of teeth, we advise that you brush your mouth with our whitening gel twice a day and floss on a daily basis. You should also let your dentist monitor your oral health. Don’t hesitate to consult him if you notice any pain in any part of your mouth or any other unusual occurrence. Whatever it is, he has the skill, knowledge and experience to nip it in the bud.
